social distance と social distancing

関空の情報がアップデートされていたので覗いてみると

コロナ対策用のアナウンスが各種アップデートされていました。

そして「掲示」を見ると

ソーシャルディスタンシング

という、単語になっていました。

小池さん、行政、メディアでもディスタンスと使っていたような気もします。
しかしながら、厳密には意味が異なります。

social distance
social distancing

ingなしの名詞では「社会的に心理的な圧迫のある距離」という意味になります。

ingは物理的な距離感を表しますので、コロナ対応でスーパーのレジ待ちなど距離をとるときには「social distancing」というのが正しいらしい。
個人的には日本にいるので「外来語」扱いだし...
ま、報道関係者は正しく使用しないといけませんが。

「断密」ではだめなのか？
